:(
amazing that they are making a movie for this cause!!!!!! movies can change so much in the world i hope this does help
i like later in the movie when she says “i wasnt trying to kill myself i just wanted to make the shit stop” (her flashbacks)
My thought menagerie: run. ↘
I don’t know where I’m running to
I am only certain of what I’m running from.
I don’t allow myself to stop
I don’t allow myself to think
I only run.
I fail to realize that
The further I run
The more skewed my perception of time and reality become
When my body eventually gives out
And I’m forced to catch my breath
I recognize nothing
I am lost.
Not only am I lost
But I begin to realize
what I have feared all along
I will never truly escape what I am running from
For the pain exists only in my mind.
I Ignore this truth, turn off my thoughts
And begin once again to run…
I don’t know where I am running to
I am only certain what I am running from
Antisocial Personality Disorder
This is what the famous character Lisa suffers from in the movie Girl, Interrupted played by Angelina Jolie but they use they term sociopath as the casual name for it. She accurately portrays this disorder. With her manipulation, controlling behavior over others, and the scene where she takes the money out of polly’s dress pocket when she had just hung herself is something someone with this disorder would do without remorse. I could write about this disorder for a while I find it very intriguing.

people with borderline personality disorder, the one susanna has in girl, interrupted, very often are found to self-mutilate, as seen in this picture where the individual cuts themselves. in susanna’s case, she was a “wrist banger”. (side note: for those who don’t know what wrist banging it its the act of banging your wrists extremely hard which sends a signal to the brain for it to give the body a calming feeling). It is very common with this disorder to attempt suicide and many times the suicide attempts are successful.

Personality theory (five factor model):
people can be rated on a series of personality dimensions, and the combination of five components describes why people are so different.
the five factors are:
1. Extroversion- talkative, assertive, and active versus silent, passive and reserved
2. Agreeableness- kind, trusting, and warm verus hostile, selfish, and mistrustful
3. Conscientiousness- organized, thorough, and reliable versus careless, negligent, and unreliable
4. Neuroticism- even-tempered versus nervous, moody, and tempramental
5. Openness to Experience- imaginative, curious, and creative versus shallow and imperceptive
On each dimension, people are rated high, low, or somewhere in between
